Covid Update: Our usual teaching space at WASPS Studios near Haymarket remains closed to the public but classes are now running from Edinburgh Palette in Meadowbank and The Safari Lounge in Cadzow Place.
We hope to be back in the Dalry Studio in the new year.
The Safari Lounge
21 Cadzow Place, Edinburgh
Situated in the tropical surroundings of Abbeyhill, Edinburgh, The Safari Lounge was discovered in 2013 and has been providing much needed rest and debauchery to weary travellers and natives alike ever since.
Look and Draw has been running pop up events at the Safari Lounge since 2018 from the popular monthly Drink and Draw, to other one off classes in printmaking, botanical drawing and crafting such as macrame and weaving. We are excited to be back running our sessions from late October. Due to Covid our numbers a greatly reduced and advance booking is required. We are operating along the lines of meeting another household in the pub so if you join with a friend you get a 15% discount. Check out what's happening HERE
151 London Road, Edinburgh
Edinburgh Palette is a community of makers, designers and artists, working alongside charities, creative enterprises and small businesses. This community has steadily grown in St Margaret’s House, a former office block disregarded by many for its “neo-brutalist” architecture
Look and Draw runs classes from the workshops space, off Gallery 2 on the 3rd floor. It is accessible via staircase or lift at St Margaret's House from either the front door or the car park entrance. Sunday Life Drawing Club and tutored blocks of classes will run from this venue.
Look and Draw hopes to return to the studio building near Haymarket in the new year. The building is located on West Park Place and is part of WASPS Artists Studios which provide studio space for around 70 artists and makers. WASPS have not given the go ahead for classes to restart in the building. The classes normally run from the large basement studio on the ground floor and can accommodate up to 14 people.
Parking is limited but the studios run directly off Dalry Road, which has many bus links and are a five minute walk from Haymarket station.
