Come and learn how to lino print in the great outdoors of Holyrood Park.
Linocut is a printmaking technique using a sheet of linoleum. A subtractive cutting method is used to take away the parts of linoleum where you want to leave the white of the page, and keep the parts you want to be inked!
We will start the session by foraging and collecting little bits of nature that catch our eye. These sticks, stones, leaves and twigs will be the subject for our prints and we will explore shape, texture and contrasts created from carving techniques.
Tools, ink, lino and paper will be provided for you to create and make your prints, and you can take home your linocut at the end and print as many more as you like.
The workshops is suitable for all levels of experience.
