Tuesdays 6.45 - 9.00 pm 15 Sep - 27 Oct 2026 (no class 13 Oct) Life Printing Tutor: Sarah Calmus Working from the life model in the studio, this 6-week course explores a more experimental approach to the figure, combining drawing and printmaking. Drawing acts as a starting point, but the focus of the course is on print. Through a series of structured but open sessions, you’ll develop your own language of marks while exploring line, tone, gesture, shape and form. Initial drawings made from observation are then carried into print. Working with collagraph and lino, you’ll translate and rework the figure, using print as a way to disrupt, layer and transform your images. Printmaking introduces a shift in pace and process, where repetition, variation and surface begin to play a more active role. Results can move between bold, graphic statements and more subtle, ghost-like impressions. The class provides a supportive environment with guided exercises designed to encourage experimentation and help you loosen your approach while still building confidence in how you see and respond to the figure. Each session begins with a short demo or slide talk, looking at artists and approaches connected to the day’s work. ⸻ All sessions are fully instructed and suitable for all levels. Whether you’re new to life drawing or looking to extend your practice through print, you’re welcome to join. All materials are included.

Cancellation & Refunds Policy If Look & Draw needs to cancel or reschedule a class or workshop for any reason, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another course. If you need to cancel your booking, please note that there is a £30 non-refundable deposit included in the course fee. 14 days or more before the start of a course – you’ll receive a full refund, minus the £30 deposit. Within 14 days of the start date – refunds can’t be offered, but we may be able to offer a credit or discount toward a future class. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds after the course has started We really appreciate your understanding, advance bookings help us plan and keep the studio running sustainably while supporting our tutors.
