Frequently asked questions

The majority of our tutored classes and workshops take place in our main studio in Newhaven. We also host a regular pop-up event called "Drink and Draw" on the last Wednesday of the month at the Safari Lounge.

Our permanent studio is based in The Attic Room at The Heart of Newhaven Community, an old Victorian school. Our address is: 4 - 6 Main Street, Newhaven EH6 4HY

We are located just a few minutes' walk from the Newhaven Tram terminus and the stop for the numbers 11 and 16 buses.

Enter through the main reception door and follow the corridor straight ahead. Our studio is on the top floor. Head up the stairs to the top floor until you reach the flamingo, take a sharp right then a left along the corridor. You'll find our studio at the end.

Yes, there is plenty of free parking available on the adjoining streets.

The studio is open during scheduled class times. When arriving for a booked session you are welcome to arrive 15 minutes before the start time of the class

The Safari Lounge is located at: 21 Cadzow Place Edinburgh EH7 5SN It's a popular local pub with a unique atmosphere. Look and Draw has been hosting its monthly "Drink and Draw" events there since 2018. Unfortunately, our two current spaces are not wheelchair accessible. Main Studio (The Heart of Newhaven): Located on the top floor, which requires climbing stairs. Monthly Pop-Up Venue (Safari): Situated downstairs, accessible by a narrow staircase, which limits accessibility. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are actively seeking more accessible programming for future classes, including outdoor sessions and utilising other areas of the building at The Heart of Newhaven.
