14th - 18th July 10:00 - 16:00 Join us for a five-day summer school designed to invigorate your sketchbook practice, whether for portfolio development or personal exploration. Guided by experienced tutor Elaine Speirs, you will engage in painting and drawing from an inspiring range of still-life setups, experimenting with mark-making, composition and expressive techniques. Throughout the week, we will take inspiration from artists such as Berthe Morisot, Monet, Joan Mitchell, Van Gogh, Cézanne and Manet, studying their approaches to sketching and painting. By the end of the course, you will expand your artistic language and visual storytelling, build confidence in mark-making and creative expression, and leave with a dynamic sketchbook full of ideas, studies and small paintings. This course is ideal for artists at all levels looking to develop their sketchbook practice, those building portfolios or exploring new creative directions, and anyone wanting to move beyond description and express ideas through materials.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & Refunds Policy If Look & Draw needs to cancel or reschedule a class or workshop for any reason, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another course. If you need to cancel your booking, please note that there is a £30 non-refundable deposit included in the course fee. 14 days or more before the start of a course – you’ll receive a full refund, minus the £30 deposit. Within 14 days of the start date – refunds can’t be offered, but we may be able to offer a credit or discount toward a future class. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds after the course has started We really appreciate your understanding, advance bookings help us plan and keep the studio running sustainably while supporting our tutors.
